Realme Band : Pros and Cons

Realme Band arrived in the competition of Fitness Bands

Realme's new fitness band is launched in the Indian market at a very nominal price point but this smart fitness band have some flaws and also few beneficial features at this budget.
On 5th March 2020 Realme released a video that clearly shows that Realme has big plans to launch the AIoT product in India. Fortunately, the Realme band is the first one. Along with the Realme band company also launched the companion application for linking of multiple devices and the name of the application is "Link" available on both android and IOS platforms.

Now talking about the Pros and Cons of the Realme band:

PRO's

  1. Inbuilt USB charging point, so you don't have to carry a proprietary charging cable, that means just have to remove the right sideband strap and put it in the female USB connector.
  2. Colour display is a perk for the users at this price point.
  3. Inbuilt heart rate sensor and also has the options for manual and continuous heart rate tracking.
  4. Long-lasting battery life, Realme claims that Realme Band last for 9 days of continuous usage with the automatic heart rate tracking.
  5. Lightweight and comfortable fit which makes this more suitable for the long term uses.
  6. During the time of a particular activity, this band also show some quick data so that you can get an idea about the ongoing and completed activity
  7. The pricing is also a factor that this band come in the consideration as this band priced only for 1499 INR.
CON's

  1. The first drawback according to me is the display. It is very dim in the straight outdoor light and also it is a TFT panel which is not as sharp as the OLED display and the colour is also dull as compared the MI Band 4's display.
  2. Second might be the charging way because the charging point is connected to the band if that USB points breaks then you have to buy a new band. There is no other option.
  3. Last con of the Realme Band is small battery capacity, has 80mAH which is smaller than the MI Band 4's battery, so that clearly means short battery life as compared to the competition
  4. Incoming call notification is not that much optimize as it only shows the Incoming call notification without the name of the caller.
  5. And Link app is also short with some important features such as....there is no option for the multiple notifications and media control on the band, even this band miss some apps to notify such as Instagram and many more.
Verdict on Realme Band

All in all it is a good band but needs some software enhancements for more smooth performance and Optimized the Link application is also required. At this price point, Realme Band is the only band that comes with the colour display so, you can consider that in your shopping list.
